One of the conditions that are usually mentioned by the Sunnis for the caliph is that the caliph is Qureshi. They attribute this condition to Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)
Historically, this condition has been observed until the end of the Abbasid caliphate.
The question of the present article is whether Abu Bakr and Umar attributed such news to the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) in Saqifa. And secondly: Did the Ansar agree with the Quraysh Emirate by trusting this word of the Prophet (PBUH)?
In order to find the answer, we examined the various reports that were presented from the Saqifah meeting and by categorizing these reports and reviewing them, we showed that the claim of adherence to this news in the Saqifah meeting and its effect on the complaints from Saad bin Abada and Iqbal to Abu Bakr. The claim is not acceptable. |
