Investigating The Issue Of Polygamy And Its Relationship With Female Nature
Abstract:   (283 Views)
One of the reasons for the immortality and comprehensiveness of Islam is the conformity of its rules with human nature (Fitrah). Some people have raised the doubt that allowing polygamy up to four wives is contrary to the nature of the woman and her sense of exclusivity, who is reluctant to see a second wife for her husband. The present study, with a descriptive-analytical method, by studying the interpretive sources and narrations of the two sects and examining the verses and narrations on the issue, has sought to obtain the correct answer and has reached the following results: Given the importance that Islam considers for maintaining family foundation, Islam is based on monogamy and polygamy has been legislated in order to protect the society from degeneration and corruption in cases of necessity, and this law does not contradict the female nature. The sense of exclusivism that women have towards their husbands is in order to maintain the family, and this issue has been considered in the verses of the Holy Quran.
