Examining and explaining justice from the point of view of martyr Motahari, relying on Nahj al-Balagha, compared to John Rawls's justice
Abstract:   (7 Views)
One of the most fundamental and valuable human virtues is justice, which has always been the focus of attention, along with concepts such as freedom, security and democracy, as one of the concerns of human society. Among the rulers of history, Imam Ali (AS) has paid more attention to the issue of justice, and by studying Nahj al-Balagha, one can understand his special sensitivity towards government and justice. After him, thinkers and thinkers expressed their opinions about justice and ways to achieve it. One of the contemporary philosophers in Islamic philosophy who has dealt with this concept as a justice-seeking thinker is Shahid Motahari. In the West, in 1971, John Rawls is the leader of theorists around the concept of justice by writing the book Theory of Justice. The findings of the research using a descriptive-analytical method indicate that Shahid Motahari brings forward the issue of justice from within the human being and considers granting the right to the rightful as justice. For Shahid Motahari, justice should be examined from two angles: distributive justice and fair justice. Distributive justice means proper distribution of rights and obligations, and fair justice means equality in treating others; But in Rawls's intellectual thought, the discussion of justice is outside of human existence. According to Rawls, distributive justice is equality in the distribution of resources and life opportunities. He believes that societies should act based on the unfair principle of "distributive justice"; This means that the distribution of resources should be used to ensure equality of opportunities and resources in life. In this research, while explaining and examining the concept of justice in the intellectual system of martyr Motahari, relying on Nahj al-Balagha, the commonalities and differences of this concept are compared with John Rawls.
